Points of Interest:
Alameda de las Pulgas has a lot of traffic and might not be comfortable for all riders.
However, a group can easily take the far right lane so that cars change lanes to pass.
Alameda de las Pugas past Hillsdale is a large hill and 36th Ave. To avoid the hill, this route goes up Hillsdale.
Hillsdale bike lane is narrow, please be aware of car doors opening into the bike lane.
Points of Interest:
From Pacific to Hillsdale - enter inner circle sidewalk from crosswalk on Pacific
Use the pedestrian button at Hillsdale slip lane! (Make sure you round the corner on the sidewalk so that you can see oncoming traffic before starting across Hillsdale)
Along El Camino Real: ride in the right hand traffic lane OR sidewalk along Barnes & Noble shopping plaza
Laurel drop off is a mess. You can avoid it by going up 37th Ave instead, but the hill is bigger and you need to ride on Alameda for a block (or take the sidewalk). Two-stage turn across Alameda at 36th Ave.
Points of Interest:
Feedback from some parents is that even sidewalk riding on Hillsdale past Trader Joe's is very chaotic in the morning.
So we are providing an alternate route crossing El Camino Real at 31st.
The ride to school is uphill almost the whole way - what a way to wake up and be alert for school!
This route is a little more confusing at first, but it avoids Alameda de las Pulgas for those not comfortable on that road.

Points of Interest:
Left from Bike Path to Norfolk:
Be Careful! The bike path is bumpy with tree routes and uneven pavement.
At Norfolk (the end of the bike path), turn left and ride on the sidewalk slowly for half a block.
Cross Norfolk using the crosswalk in front of Chavez Market.
Norfolk & Kehoe:
Use a box turn using the crosswalks to turn left onto Kehoe.
If you are an experienced rider, you can merge into traffic and turn left from Norfolk to Kehoe as a car would.
Points of Interest:
Amazing ride along the Bay Trail to school!

Points of Interest:
16th Ave and Delaware:
Busy intersection; don't try to turn left here, turning right from the north is okay, going straight through is okay.
Alley between 14th & 15th Ave:
Paved/private alley. A few bumps and will put you on El Camino Real at the intersection with Barenson.
Don't merge with traffic on El Camino - USE THE PEDESTRIAN CROSSWALK
Barneson:
Recommended: Ride the sidewalk on the McDonald's side right to the school.
